Tools Should Be Used, Not Babied
Crown Forge tools are built to work.
We expect them to get dirty. We expect them to get scratched. We expect them to spend their lives in workshops, toolboxes, vans and underneath vehicles.
Normal wear is part of owning a tool.
Failure shouldn't be.
That's why eligible Crown Forge hand tools are backed by our Lifetime Warranty.
Register your tool within 1 year of purchase and, if it later fails under normal use, we'll put it right.
We put our name on the tool. We stand behind it.
Register Your Tool
To qualify for the Crown Forge Lifetime Warranty, your eligible tool must be registered with Crown Forge within 1 year of its original purchase date.
Registration is simple and completed through the Crown Forge website.
You will normally need:
- The product details
- Your purchase date
- Your retailer or order information
- Proof of purchase where available
Once registered, the tool is covered under the terms of the Crown Forge Lifetime Warranty.
Tools that are not registered within 1 year of purchase are not covered by the Crown Forge Lifetime Warranty.
Registration does not affect any statutory rights you may have as a consumer.
What's Covered
Our Lifetime Warranty covers failures of registered, eligible Crown Forge hand tools resulting from defects in:
- Materials
- Manufacturing
- Workmanship
- Construction
- Mechanical components under normal use
If a ratchet mechanism fails during normal use, a drive component breaks, or another covered part of the tool fails when being used for its intended purpose, we want to know about it.
Where a failure is covered by our Lifetime Warranty, we will repair or replace the tool at our discretion, normally with the same product or its current equivalent.
There is no planned service life after which we expect you to throw your tools away. If we call it a lifetime tool, we intend to stand behind it for the long term.
What's Not Covered
A lifetime warranty is a promise about the quality of our tools. It isn't permission to deliberately destroy them.
The warranty does not cover:
- Tools that were not registered within 1 year of purchase
- Deliberate or intentional damage
- Abuse or use significantly beyond the tool's intended purpose
- Unauthorised modification
- Loss or theft
- Cosmetic wear that does not affect the function of the tool
- Corrosion caused by improper storage, chemical exposure or neglect
- Consumable or naturally wearing components where specifically identified as such
- Damage caused by using a tool for something it was not designed to do
A scratched handle isn't a failed tool. A ratchet showing years of honest use doesn't concern us. But putting a six-foot scaffold pole over a 1/4" ratchet and jumping on it isn't normal use either.
We think that's a reasonable distinction.
How to Make a Claim
We've deliberately kept the process simple.
1. Find your registered tool
Your tool must have been registered with Crown Forge within 1 year of purchase.
2. Tell us what happened
Submit a warranty claim through the Crown Forge website and tell us which tool has failed.
3. Show us the problem
Send us a photograph or short video showing the tool and the failure. We may occasionally ask for additional information or request that the failed tool is returned so that we can inspect it.
4. We sort it
If the failure is covered by the Crown Forge Lifetime Warranty, we'll arrange a repair, replacement or other appropriate resolution.
That's it.
We aren't interested in making customers fight through unnecessary paperwork to claim against a warranty we chose to put on the product. And when a tool does fail, we want to understand why. Genuine warranty failures help us identify weaknesses, improve future production and hold our manufacturing partners to the Crown Forge Standard.
A Warranty We Intend to Honour
A lifetime warranty is easy to print on a box.
It means considerably more when a company has to stand behind it years later.
We're building Crown Forge around repeat customers, not one-off sales. If one of our registered tools genuinely lets you down, dealing with it properly isn't an inconvenience to the business.
It's part of the product you bought.
Your Statutory Rights
The Crown Forge Lifetime Warranty is an additional commercial warranty. It does not replace, restrict or affect any statutory rights you may have as a consumer.
